I reloaded SAME batteries to recheck error code, and got no error code !
Error 44 is a battery reading error. With this error code we recommend doing a battery reset with new batteries and it should fix the issue.

I now have error code 01 on E3. I've tried several different SD cards, reloaded batteries -- ??
What were you doing when the camera gave you this error message.
