Yeah, it shows that we had the deer get through this past winter in real good shape.

Not up by us, we had a lot of snow early and then the temp. dropped out in Dec. I was black powder hunting last year when the temps never got over 5 above the whole week. We didn't get better till mid January. We did get that warm spring till it got cold again then warmed up again. That false spring screwed a lot of trees up here. Almost no maple syrup, the cherry and apple trees got fooled and now there's almost no apple or cherry crop up by us.

Thank you, this drought we are having in southern Wisconsin is bad right now and yet 220 miles to the North where our property is we've been getting rain at least 3 times a week. The woods look great and the corn looks real good, they only downside to all the rain is the skeeters.

We haven't had to much rain but unfortunately our hunting property holds a lot of water so on really wet years it seems the deer get pushed off to other areas. So far its fairly dry down there. Being only 20 minutes or so from the coast it doesn't take much to flood out.

How bad are the skeeters? On our property we have a creek running the length of the property, plus we have a cedar swamp that runs the length of the property, it's a real skeeter trap this time of year.

When its wet the skeeters are bad bad bad! Ticks and chiggers will take the place of the skeeters if its dry! Im not sure which is worse!

Even when it's wet the ticks are real bad, but by the middle of August the ticks are gone till next year. Last week when I was up there I went to unlock the cabin and I had a swarm of yellow jackets attack me and my lab, I didn't realize that they had built a nest under the deck. The dog and myself got stung a whole bunch of times until I got rid of the nest.

Well up by us the bucks are doing real good, the one thing you have to watch out for is drought. It seems that when we have drought conditions as we did a few years back the antler growth goes in the crapper. It's probably a combination of stress, and not a lot of forage out in the woods.
